My name is Liz L. I live at the coast in California. I am married with two.
I was diagnosed with cushings in april of 2002. I had trasnsedoytal surgery in august. I lost some weight but not a lot. I thought things were going ok until maybe a year ago.
I started putting on weight. well it continued to go up so I saw my doctor. She told me I had some sort of blood disorder and cushings and I cannot eat carbs because it causes me to gain weight.
I have been seeing my encronologist and she basically has said everything is going pretty good nothing to worry about.

Hi Liz, I see that your post is quite old, but I thought I’d at least reach out to ask how you are doing since your last log-in. I live in Arroyo Grande, and I’m seeing a Endocrinologist at Sansum in SB for possible Cushings. My health history is getting long, and I’m pretty much bed ridden, so a Cushings diagnosis could answer and maybe solve a lot of my health issues. I did want to ask you who your doctor is, and if it is someone local. I’m afraid my doctor is not too familiar with Cushings, and I’m hoping to find someone with more experience. If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear back from you. Best wishes, and I hope you are doing well 💕

My son. Joseph 30 from McAllen TX has had cushings for about 5 Years. After MD Anderson Cancer treatment and Methodist Hosp in Houston both botched diagnosing and treating him because the surgeons and endos were in different places they could never get anything accomplished. It’s a 6 hour drive from McAllen to Houston. 3 Years wasted.
Finally he and my wife found the Pituitary Center at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and having all the specialists together on his initial visit they agreed he has cushings, and needed treatment. They only see patients one day a week as it’s a teaching school but Aug 22 they will be making the decision about how to remove the adenoma, and how to get him started on the long road to recovery. Hope this helps.
God Bless.
