My daughter is 13 and has been diagnosed with Cushings Disease. We are having our final MRI and IPSS test this coming week and surgery in September.
I am looking for all the information I can find!

Wow, having had Cushing’s myself I still cant imagine watching a child endure it. Sounds like you are well on the way to positive changes. I had pit. surgery in 2001 and had an easy recovery that restored my health (except for bone damage which she’ll have to address for the rest of her life.) Also know that I have also had a c-section and an adult tonsillectomy, and the brain surgery was actually the easiest recovery for me. It is so worth getting your life back! Best wishes.

I had the IPPS and the pit surgery in Dec 2011. The IPPS, there is no pain, as there is no nerves. The pit surgery, was uncomfortable ONLY because of the packing in the nose, your mouth dry, etc. It will definitely take some time to notice the changes, and that could take up to a year, but will be so worth it. No drinking from a straw, or blowing your nose for at least 2 weeks!! VERY IMPORTANT!! Bring a little mouthwash, toothpaste and brush with you. She will find out that will be her best friend for a few days. Good luck my little cushie friend, you will do GREAT!!
