Hi there, my name is Britt. I am 20. I am going in for testing with the UCSF clinic in one month!
I am scared and excited because I have had Cushing’s symptoms for 4 years now and NEED to find out what is wrong with me. I actually found this webpage looking for answers AND I had an idea after reading an article about doing a survey on Cushing’s and Blood Type. It’s self-reported of course but I’d appreciate it if anyone would take it, whether or not you’ve been diagnosed!
Thanks and wish me luck! 🙂

Britt, Hi I was diagnosed in 1994 with Cushing’s Disease. At that time I lived in Santa Rosa, California. My local endocrinologist diagnosed me but I did go to UCSF for my transphenoidal surgery. You are going to the right place. A teaching institution keeps up with the most recent information on this disease.

Hi — sorry to hear about all the complications. Many of your symptoms are similar to mine & I’m currently exploring Cushings w/ my internist as a possible diagnosis but have not yet confirmed anything. However, I’ve had severe back pain for years & it was just discovered that I have 3 severely compressed vertebra in my spine which now includes one that has fractured. Osteoporosis is a common co-concurrent complication w/ Cushings & it is of course progressive. Suggest you get a bone density study ASAP & closely monitor especially your pelvic & spinal density. I also have developed severe nose bleed episodes in winter especially when I’ve had to drive in my car with its heater running; later on for no reason I’ll just bend over to pick something up & profuse bleeding will start. My cortisol levels keep coming back normal so the doc’s doing more extensive workups. I also show low Vit. D levels. Good luck & hang in there,
